Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is looking for a Senior Geochemist ready to advance their career. Located in Mississauga, Ontario, our center of excellence for mine waste geochemistry provides world-class consulting services throughout Canada and around the globe. Our team includes geochemists with backgrounds in geology, aqueous geochemistry and engineering. We provide a positive and collaborative entrepreneurial environment in which to work on challenging projects and continue your professional growth.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in an applicable field (e.g. geochemistry, earth sciences, biology, chemistry)
  • 10+ years’ applicable experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience regarding acid rock drainage/ metal leaching and mine waste geochemistry assessment  
  • Demonstrated experience with geochemical sampling design, water and rock sample collection, and analytical methods for mine waste geochemistry analysis
  • Demonstrated abilities with geochemical and water quality modeling
  • Demonstrated Task and Project Management skills
  • Eligible for Professional accreditation (P.Geo, P.Eng. etc.) an asset but not a requirement
  • Strong database management skills in Excel or other database software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Willingness to travel for field assignments
